Stipend disbursement: Stipends will be distributed either monthly or in a lump sum at the end of the semester, depending on the faculty member’s plan. The amount will be based on the stipend specified in the implementation plan, and the disbursement schedule will follow the University’s reimbursement procedures.

1. Scholarship Application Please refer to the Scholarship Regulations for detailed information. Application forms should be prepared by applicants and must include academic performance, academic publications, participation in academic activities, participation in Institute activities and other special contributions, as well as an official transcript. Eligible applicants: First-year and second-year master’s students. Please submit all required documents to the Institute Office by 12:00 noon on March 18. Late submissions will not be accepted. 2. Thesis Title Submission Thesis titles for the second semester of the 2021–2022 academic year may be submitted from now until June 15, 2022. 3. Oral Examination Application and Completion Deadline The application deadline for oral examinations is June 9, 2022. The oral examination must be completed by July 7, 2022. In accordance with the University’s revised Regulations for Graduate Degree Examinations (2019), all theses must undergo similarity checking through the University’s plagiarism detection system. The similarity index shall be reviewed by the advisor, and approval from the advisor is required before applying for the degree examination. It is recommended that the similarity index be below 20%, excluding quotations and references. This standard has been implemented since August 1, 2019. For details on the Turnitin system, please refer to the Institute website. 4. Research Room Application Application period: February 14 to February 25, 2022. The list of approved users will be announced by March 1, 2022. Usage period: From March 1, 2022 to the end of July 2022. Regulations and application forms: Please refer to the “Regulations” and “Downloads” sections on the Institute website. Students who used the research rooms in the first semester must vacate the rooms and return the keys to the Institute Office by February 25, 2022. 5. Locker Application Application period: February 14 to February 25, 2022. The list of approved users will be announced by March 1, 2022. Usage period: From March 1, 2022 to the end of July 2022. Application procedure: Please register directly at the Institute Office. Students who used lockers in the first semester must empty the lockers and return the keys to the Institute Office by February 25, 2022. 6. Registration for Research Assistantship Programs Information regarding registration for research assistantship programs for this semester will be announced after discussion among the faculty of the Institute.

1. Principles for the Appointment of Part-time Assistants In accordance with University regulations, the Institute primarily appoints research assistants (graduate student assistants) and provides stipends in order to: encourage students to complete their master’s theses in a timely manner, support participation in academic activities, facilitate involvement in research activities, and encourage the publication of research outcomes. Appointment plans and quotas are determined independently by full-time faculty members. One additional position is allocated for assisting with editorial work for the Journal of Labor Studies. Administrative duties of the Institute are primarily supported by labor-based part-time assistants. For specific activities such as admissions examinations, alumni events, and large-scale events, temporary labor-based part-time assistants may be hired on a daily employment basis, with compensation and labor insurance handled accordingly. Supplementary Note: The appointment plans and quotas for research assistants are determined by individual faculty members. Faculty members should explain relevant regulations to prospective student assistants in advance, and appointments shall be made only upon mutual agreement. 2. Application Procedure: Students who have been confirmed to participate in a faculty member’s research assistant plan and will begin implementation this month should, together with their supervising faculty member, complete the NCCU Research Assistant Application Form (Forms 1 and 2) and the Agreement on the Ownership of Research Outputs and Intellectual Property Rights (Form 3; not required for those not participating in faculty research projects), and submit them to the Institute Office for registration by September 30, 2021. After completing the plan for this semester, the Learning Outcome Evaluation Form (Form 4) should be submitted to the Institute Office by January 31, 2022.
