The following are important announcements for the first semester of Academic Year 2020–2021:
1. Scholarship Applications
- Please refer to the Scholarship Regulations for further details.
Application forms should be prepared by applicants and must include academic performance, academic publications, participation in activities, and an original copy of the transcript.
- Eligible applicants: first-year and second-year master’s students.
Please submit all required documents to the Institute Office by 12:00 PM on September 30, 2020.
Late submissions will not be accepted.
2. Thesis Title Submission
Thesis titles for the first semester of Academic Year 2020–2021 should be submitted from now until December 15, 2020.
3. Oral Defense Application and Completion Deadline
- The application deadline for oral defense is December 15, 2020.
Students must complete their oral defense before January 7, 2021.

In accordance with the University’s revised Guidelines for Graduate Degree Examinations (2019), an additional requirement has been introduced for thesis submission:
all theses must undergo review through the University’s plagiarism detection system.
The Institute’s review standard is as follows:
the overall similarity index will be reviewed by the thesis advisor, and only with the advisor’s approval may the student proceed with the degree examination.
It is recommended that the similarity index be below 20%. Citations and references may be excluded from the evaluation.
This policy has been in effect since August 1, 2019.

4. Research Room Applications
- Application Period:
September 14 – September 25, 2020
The list of approved users will be announced by September 28, 2020.
- Usage Period:
From September 28, 2020 to the end of January 2021.
- Regulations and Application Forms:
Please refer to the relevant regulations and the Download Section on the Institute’s website.
- Students who used research rooms in the second semester of Academic Year 2019–2020 must clear out their belongings and return the keys to the Institute Office by September 25, 2020.
5. Locker Applications
- Application Period:
September 14 – September 25, 2020
The list of approved users will be announced by September 28, 2020.
- Usage Period:
From September 28, 2020 to the end of January 2021.
- Application Method:
Please register directly at the Institute Office.
- Students who used lockers in the second semester of Academic Year 2019–2020 must empty their lockers and return the keys to the Institute Office by September 25, 2020.
6. Registration for Part-time Assistants
Information regarding registration for part-time assistants for this semester will be announced separately after faculty members have completed their discussions.
