Abstract:
The global operations of multinational companies have affected a large number of workers around the world. Global Framework Agreements (GFAs) are intended to protect such workers. Prof. Santanu will take India as an example to introduce the actual implementation and achievements of three GFAs signed by three German multinational companies in india (Siemens, Bosch, Daimler), with IG Metall, IMF and IndustriALL. We will also examine the role played by labor unions in order to see whether GFAs are a labor protection mechanism that the international community can expect.
